Operation Encompass is an initiative which enhances communication between police and schools where a child is at risk from domestic abuse.
Schools across Worcestershire are informed when the police have attended an address for one of their students.
This information is recorded by the pastoral team and contributes to the chronology for that child. The Pastoral Team will decide if any further actions are necessary and will monitor the child in question.
Having this information gives us a better opportunity to support the child’s needs and possible behaviours.
If appropriate staff will be informed on a need to know basis if it is in the best interests of the student. Class teachers can expect to be given this information.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
